On 1st January 2012, PHENOTYPE, in full Positive Health Effects of the Natural Outdoor environment in Typical Populations in different regions in Europe was officially launched. The collaborative research project is funded through the European Commission seventh Framework Programme (FP7), with a maximum EU contribution of € 3.499.403,00 over the duration of 4 years.
The PHENOTYPE project kick-off meeting will be held from 30th May – 1st June 2012. An open seminars introducing background of the areas to be addressed in the project will be held on the afternoon of the first day. This is followed by two days of closed meeting attended by PHENOTYPE Beneficiaries, the EC Project Officer and the Scientific Advisory Board. During the meeting, WP strategies will be presented and finalised, providing the start shot of the research activities.
On Wednesday 30th May 2012, seminars introducing the topics addressed within the PHENOTYPE project are being held for stakeholders including urban planners, architects, ecology and health professionals. Presentations will be given by key contributors to the project, including Scientific Advisory Board Member Dr Agnes van den Berg (Environmental Psychologist, Wageningen University, NL) and Prof Mike Jerrett (PI, Environmental Health Sciences, University of California, USA).
